Black's Wednesday Video, Black's Beach, California, Dec 9, 2020

My first California winter west swell experience went boom. Just for you, I woke up at the crack, perched myself on precarious cliffsides, and filmed the surf break that many SoCal surfers think of when they’re ready for big barrels: Black’s Beach.

And I do emphasize “ready”. Black’s is not for the faint of heart.

The sunrise was vivid and splashed colors across the sky. Folks came to watch and walk the trails down to the beach for a closer look. Many people wore masks, which will be weird to look back on one day.

After spending hours filming, I have a new appreciation for Black’s. I wont reveal what I learned, but it’s worth taking a long look. I’m eager to thread a few barrels myself one day. But the thrill of filming can’t be denied. I had an awesome getting these shots and putting together this video.

I really hope you like the song. It’s by one of my friend’s bands, “Los Peeps”. They have an album called Salsapunk! that’s a solid cover-to-cover listen. Check them out: www.lospeeps.com

Hats off to the surfers who scored some shade. Hit me up to film the next one!
