November Nor'Easter New York

I checked the usual spots that I won’t name, but you’ll recognize if you surf in the area. Some breaks were almost twice as big as others. The crowd was in full force (for a Monday) with surfers from Jersey, Connecticut, and Montauk. All of my photos are from the land because I didn’t have the courage to swim out with my waterhousing, but I saw another fella with fins out there.

The waves were generated by a storm off the coast of Georgia. It was a Nor’Easter which moved Northeast up the coast--hence the name. Winds were recorded up to 80mph.

From behind the lens, it didn’t look easy out there. Mutant mountains detonated with lips as thick as $5 milkshake. A strong current helped keep the crowd spread apart.

Swell Characteristics:
Height: 11.6 Ft.
Period: @9s
Direction: E 91 Degrees

Never am I too earnest to get back into the thicker rubber. It’s tight and I’m slightly out of shape. It reminded me to ramp up the cardio. Recently, I’ve been doing training sessions, but an injured shoulder slowed my progress. However, I’m back now, and I have some new workouts I’ve been trying based around Michael Chang’s Morning Routine. Maybe I’ll gain stamina to paddle for a few more hours in the ole’ suit of armor.

Another photog, Mike Vitello, was also out. Check out more photos like this on Mike’s Insta.
